Popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, known as BeerBiceps, has approached the Supreme Court seeking relief from multiple FIRs filed against him across different states over allegedly obscene and vulgar remarks made on the show India’s Got Latent.
Advocate Abhinav Chandrachud mentioned the matter before Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna, requesting an urgent listing. However, the CJI firmly denied the request, stating, “No Mr. Chandrachud, no oral mentioning.”
Despite Chandrachud’s insistence, citing multiple FIRs and specifically mentioning the Assam Police’s involvement, the CJI reiterated, “We have already given a date (of listing).” The advocate emphasized that it was an Article 32 petition, but the court maintained its position, responding, “Yes, we have given a date. It’s a fresh matter.”
The controversy stems from an episode recorded on November 14, 2024, at Khar Habitat, which featured Allahbadia alongside comedian Samay Raina, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, and others. The episode, which aired recently, was criticized for its repeated use of abusive language, leading to FIRs being filed in Maharashtra and Assam.
With the Supreme Court setting a date for the matter, Allahbadia’s legal battle against the multiple complaints is set to unfold in the coming weeks.
